Oregon State Police Fury

One of the cars in my personal collection is this project 1978 Plymouth Fury 440-HP factory Police Package. I have determined that it was used by the Oregon State Police as a fully marked, slick-top unit equipped with front push bars and a low band whip antenna, but no pillar mounted spotlight. It has a factory blue bucket seat interior with the vinyl floor mat and 140 mph certified speedometer. The 440 was pretty choked down in performance by 1978, but these cars still held their own against pretty much any muscle car on the road.

I acquired the mint CTS Twin Sonic light bar at a swap meet and couldn't resist snapping a few shots of it sitting on top even though it's incorrect for the car.

(EDIT: 4-16-2017. I CURRENTLY HAVE THIS FEDERAL SIGNAL CTS CALIFONIA TWINSONIC LIGHTBAR LISTED FOR AUCTION ON eBAY .

ALSO, THIS PLYMOUTH FURY POLICE CAR WILL BE LISTED FOR SALE AGAIN SOON.)

The 1978 Fury/Coronet was the last of the big block Mopar cars. Most of these were scrapped out for their 440 or 400 CID engines, making them actually quite rare today. From my research, it appears that OSP ran quite a few different Mopar models throughout the 1960's and 70's in a similar configuration.

Hopefully I'll be able to get to this project and give it the proper restoration it deserves. No Roscoe Hazzard County cars here!
